FAT TRANSFER (FAT GRAFTING) TO THE FACE
Transferring your own fat to your face
Fat grafting restores youthful volume and roundness to the face. It involves removing fat from the patient’s own abdomen or thighs and transferring it to the lines and folds of the face, and to the areas that have become hollow. It can also add volume to the lips or cheeks. Fat transfer can conceal the effects of aging, as well as loss of tissue due to trauma, acne or operations.
Fat grafting is most commonly used for:
- Sunken lower eyelids
- Cheeks
- Lines from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth
- Hollows of the skin
- Sunken scars
- Forehead lines
- Lips
Fat transfer can be combined with other operations such as laser treatment, eyelid surgery and facelift.
